You* must go to L Fest next year!

*There is an asterisk with this – ‘you’ in this instance means any women who identify as being in the queer spectrum OR anyone who loves being around these types of women!

On Sunday my wife and I went to L Fest at Uttoxeter racecourse. It is something I have wanted to go to for yeeeeaaarrsss and something that I don’t think the wife hadn’t heard of before (she calls herself a bad lesbian, which isn’t all true!) Due to having other commitments over the weekend, we could only do a day visit on the Sunday, which meant we spent as much time travelling there and back as we did actually being there! We went because I wanted to get an idea of what it was like, so had a better idea of whether it was going to be a good place to trade at next year. WE BLOODY LOVED IT!

L Fest first started in 2011…I thought it was earlier than that because it feels like I have been missing out on it for longer than that! It is a music, comedy and arts festival which spans over the course of 3 days and 3 nights and pretty much everyone camps or glamps there. They have different venues within the area and have a whole creative area too (wife made a dream catcher!) with a cinema then there is live music in another tent and workshops in another and then another building houses all things art-associated, including talks.

When we arrived there, it immediately felt like the most perfect lesbian haven! There was an atmosphere of happiness and contentment and…comfortability. Funny word, but that is what it was like. The festival welcomes families and pets…my there were a lot of dogs…and puts it in a good sized area within the racecourse. It isn’t so big that it is overwhelming, it is easy to get around but isn’t so small that you don’t have anywhere else to go. The activities, workshops and performances are abundant – enough to keep you busy…and everyone is so chilled and friendly!!

I bumped into a couple of the traders that I had met at Gloucester Pride back in June, who were trading up at L Fest – one of which had chosen to trade through me telling them about it, was lovely to see them there :-) We chatted about their experiences there as traders and I learned what to do and what not to do, very handy! They seemed really HAPPY too! I want to give them a shout out – firstly there is:

The Honey Pot  (Helen and Rachel) – it is all handmade jewellery at amazing prices, I bought some lovely purple earrings for only £3.50! Here is their website – They will be trading at Pride Cymru on August the 15th too and staying with us so that they can (maybe possibly) get drunk!

The other business is Slamsister Designs – some great lesbian-focussed cards designed by lesbians for lesbians. Emma designs the cards whilst Sandy works on the PR side. These are unique cards and they have a great array to choose from – so much better than the one or two ‘token gay cards’ you will find in any supermarket or most card shops. Here is their website –

I also had a really great chat with the amazing Naomi – an old friend – who runs Ultimate Planet with her wife Katie – it started as Planet London, listing all current events for gay women in London, but is now growing further to cover more of the UK. I am going to be writing some content for them soon, which is a very exciting thing to be a part of! There may be a Planet Cardiff coming up soon too if we collaborate correctly :-) She showed me the teaser trailer for ‘She’s In London’ which will be the first UK Lesbian webseries! Here is their website –

The amazing Kinky Monkey were there too (who gave me my amazing prize that I won at the Erotic Trade Show a few weeks ago!) Kinky Monkey make the amazing leather harnesses that I sell, I love working with them!

So along with the catching up and chatting, I also took part in a lesbian arm wrestling contest and I lost my round :-( I used to be awesome at arm wrestling! The first thing we did when we got there was go to the Sex Academy that Diva were hosting and I shall write about that in a separate blog post after I have finished this! We popped our heads in to see some great music performances, including a string band that were playing string versions of some popular music, I also met an erotic reader who was having a sexy pyjama party later on that evening…gutted I missed out on that!

I still need to decide on whether I want to go there next year as a punter or a trader, or to maybe do some workshops, but I will definitely be there and I extend my hand to all of you queer ladies out there who want to join me! As I have been writing this post I have been listening to an interview with the festival organiser Cindy Edwards and I have fallen even more in love with this organisation – please take the time to watch this and see how amazing this woman is.

They have a party in December and a festival over in Spain too!

My next blog will be out soon about the sex academy hosted by Diva.

Lesbian Valentine Market Event

I am so happy and excited about the little lesbian market event we are having at Wow Bar on Sunday the 8th of February!

As somebody who is trying to make sex toys more accessible and a bit more ‘normal’ for a lot of people, I have found it difficult to find platforms in which I can show off my products to an audience that would be too worried/self-conscious about going into an adult shop, and wouldn’t even consider allowing a vibrator in their bedroom.

I am a member of a women-only business club called I Am Woman and they have monthly events/meetings in their different areas and if I want, I and any other member can bring their products to sell for the first hour. I have taken advantage of this! I was also pointed towards a female-focussed christmas market called Glitzy  (they had cocktails for everyone who came in and a topless butler!) and I was able to sell at both of these events in December in Bridgend and Llantrisant, thank you Sakura of Pinkfire Events!

In order for me to get my products to more audiences though (my aim is to get every woman in Wales equipped with a vibrator!), I realised a couple of months ago that there is nothing stopping me from doing my own markets! Being a gay woman, and a Welsh speaker, I have created a service not only for housewives, business women, single women and divorcees, but I can give this service to gay/bi women and Welsh speakers. No one else in Wales is able to do this.

Because of this, I set my sights on having a lesbian-focussed market. I contacted Wow Bar over christmas time – a very established gay bar in Cardiff (where I used to go to when I was a new little lesbian at 18!) about setting up a market in their downstairs area, which was for women to buy Valentines Presents for their girlfriends/wives. Vicky from Wow got back to me straight away and was very excited to hear that I wanted to do this, she told me that it is something that they have wanted to do for a while. So we set a date – February the 8th – and I then went hunting for other women in business based in Cardiff that either sold items that were appropriate for gay/bi women or were owned by gay/bi women.

I got a decent amount of interest and am happy to say that we have 5 stallholders raring and ready to go! There is only enough room for 5 stalls so it’s important that they are the right stalls and that the women that enter the space have the best 5 stalls!

The first stallholder is myself of course. I will have on my stall all of my my dildos harnesses and lubes. I will also have things like booby sweets and after dinner nipples! Check out these links to have a better idea of what will be there:

In the run up to the event, I am releasing a series of videos onto my YouTube Channel focussing on dildos and harnesses, here is my YouTube Channel to see all the videos x

The second stallholder that was first to jump on board is Natasha, an Aussie girl who makes many things, but the highlight is her clay boobie pots! All hand made and they are all individual – here’s a pic of some of them:

Natasha is taking orders, so comment on the pic on Facebook (click on the pic and it will take you straight there) and she will keep that one for you. Her company is called ‘Ugly Knees, Crafts and Such’. Brilliant!

The second woman to jump onboard was Angharad Griffin, who is a beautifully gifted tailor. She owns The Griffin and the Fairie, which is a tailoring service aimed exactly at women who fear the thought of wearing a traditional wedding dress on their special day.

Check out their Facebook Page and their Website

Angharad will be there to chat with anybody who is considering a different kind of outfit for their wedding day, and for anybody who is thinking about proposing on Valentine’s Day. You will also be able to see examples of what she has created in the past.

Stallholder number 4 is Joh (Johanna) who basically makes anything and everything! Her trade is a prop maker but she is bringing something very unique along to our event – lesbian lovespoons!! She is designing some exclusively for this event so this is something to get very excited about.  Here is her Facebook page

Stallholder number 5 is getting announced on the event page tomorrow so make sure you visit it tomorrow! I am so glad that she can make it though because I love her stuff!

Click Here to see more details about the event and be kept up to date with news about it.

At time of writing, the event is just over a fortnight away! In the name of lending a hand, can you all share this blog post and/or the Facebook event link. Any gay/bi girls you know that live in South Wales need to know about this! It is a very unique event and I don’t know of anywhere else where this would exist outside of London (and maybe Brighton and Manchester!) So support our businesses and share!

I am using the hashtag #lesbianvalentine for this event so for all on Twitter, USE IT!

Strap Ons

Uch, I shudder to think how many men may click on this blog post to see what thrill they can get from this. I would therefore like to say GO AWAY TO THE MEN WHO WANT TO GET OFF ON THE POST! Just…GO AWAY!

Are they gone?

I’m still suspicious

Being a lady who likes ladies, it is about time I wrote to all the other ladies to like ladies!
Many people seem to have a fascination with lesbian sex. I think it’s quite fun that we get so much attention based on this one thing, it can sometimes make me feel special! I’ll always remember that joke that Ellen Degeneres said. “People ask me what lesbians do in bed. I tell them that sometimes we like to hold hands” It is also funny that people feel brave enough to ask this, like it is ok for them to ask such a private question.
I am not going to spend this post writing about what we do in bed – it varies from person to person, just like it does with all couples. I want to focus this post on strap-on sex, of which some women do and others don’t. This can include pegging too (which is when women wear strap ons to penetrate their male partner)

Standard Strap On Harnesses7redlacecorset

When I worked for Sh! I wouldn’t go one shift without showing a girl couple how to wear a strap-on, it was one of my favourite things to do! They would be so nervous but then end up having so much fun having a pseudo-fashion show with each other! This item seems to be a ‘go to item’ for lady couples, as it is the most widely-recognised sex toy for female couples. The argument can be made that all they do is replicate heterosexual sex. Surely it also replicates boy on boy sex too? It is just an aid to have a different kind of penetrative sex is all, which is definitely not exclusive to straight couples only.

There are many concerns and complaints over the use of a strap-on. I will deal with these one by one:

My first piece of advice is that when you first buy a harness and a dildo, to try it on a few times before you engage in any sex so that you get used to how to put it on and also to get used to how you feel wearing it. Some women feel like they look silly. You don’t look silly. You just aren’t used to having an appendage sticking out of your groin! You will soon get used to it after you have worn it a couple of times.

Some women don’t feel attractive in it. This is because in order to get the strap-on to work most effectively, you have to wear it tightly, which means that most women will get their flabby bits pronounced, and that may not feel sexy. There aren’t many women who are skinny enough to get away with having no flabby bits when they have a harness tightened around them! This is something we all need to make peace with and we just need to recognise that this happens to all of us. If you have seen any films or porn where women are wearing harnesses and they aren’t bulging out, the likelihood is that she will not be giving good sex to her partner, because the harness is too loose! A tight harness gives you more control over what you are doing.

Something very simple yet effective – it is ok to have a giggle over wearing a strap on! When you see yourself or your partner wearing one for the first time, it is going to be a funny experience so just laugh and don’t get all awkward about it! It may look funny for the first couple of times but it will immediately change to feeling sexy when it is in use!

A lot of the feedback I get from women is that it feels like a bit of a faff to put the harness on and it is like you have to stop mid-flow to sort yourselves out and then start all over again in a way.
Start your sesh off with it already on. If you’re going to have some foreplay first, wearing a harness doesn’t need to affect your foreplay. You don’t even have to pop the dildo in – put the harness on, have the dildo waiting on your bedside table, go about your foreplay then when the time is right, pop the dildo into the harness. It takes less time than it does for a man to put a condom on, which is a normal part of sex for a lot of people. Walking into a room where your partner is all kitted up and ready to go is also quite arousing!

The other option is if you would rather not start off with the harness and want to pop it on only when it is time, or when a decision is made to use it, make it a part of the sexual act. Make your partner play with herself whilst you are putting it on, or go into another room and put it on in private but before you do this, say something sexy to your partner so she can keep in the aroused state you would like her to stay in. You could tell her to imagine something – what is to come (pardon the pun!) or what position you are going to put her in, or you can get her to put something on or take something off.

An extension to this is full roleplay too, where you transform into somebody else as soon you have the harness on.
So there we go, ways to deal with strap on awkwardness!!

I stock 2 different types of harnesses – those made by Kinky Monkey, based in the UK, who hand-makes each harness out of good quality leather and uses a belt buckle system so you can tighten it to the right size to match your body with. They come in different colours (pink, purple, blue, black and red) and are either a Small/Medium or a Medium/Large. They come with one O ring (to keep the dildo secure) and they either measure 40mm (1.75 inches) or 50mm (2 inches) in diameter.

The other type I sell are made by Sportsheets, based in the USA. They are made of polyester, but because of this, they are machine washable! They have adjustable straps rather than buckles which does mean you can get them to fit you perfectly. They come with 3 interchangeable O rings -(1.5 inches, 1.75 inches, and 2 inches). Sportsheets offer a limited lifetime guarantee which basically means that if any of the bits break, you can get in touch with them and they will replace it or mend it!

I have just today launched the plus size harnesses that Sportsheets have recently introduced to the world. What is quite cool is their ‘normal’ size harnesses can still fit people whose hips measure up to 60 inches (about a size 22) but then their plus size harnesses can fit women who measure up to 72 inches, so up to a size 30! Yay!
Take a look at them and tell me what you think:

Here is a link to the strap on category in my shop for all of the details –

If you are still worried about using a strap-on, book me in for a consultation and we can have a proper chat. I will bring some harnesses with me too so you can see how it feels to wear one!

I hope you all have a good weekend and ‘happy strapping’!
